Hi, I’m Laura
Founder of Big Picture College and Career Consulting.
I help students and families navigate life after high school - whether that means college, trades, the workforce, or a gap year - with the goal of helping each student find a direction that truly fits.
I also partner with schools and organizations to support students and families in a way that aligns with their existing programs and goals.
My focus is simple: to bring clarity, confidence, and calm to the college and career planning process. I work closely with each family to create a thoughtful, personalized plan that reflects their student’s strengths, goals, and future direction - helping make the path ahead clear, manageable, and even exciting, while giving students the confidence and direction they need to move forward.
My Background & Experience
I’ve spent my career supporting students as they prepare for what comes next.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kent State University and a master’s degree in Counselor Education from The Ohio State University. I am also a licensed K–12 school counselor in the state of Ohio, with experience working both within schools and in private consulting.
My work spans a wide range of post-high school pathways, along with experience in college admissions trends, workforce data, and financial planning - helping families better understand costs, aid, and long-term decisions. Having completed my own education with minimal debt, I’m especially passionate about helping students pursue their goals in financially responsible ways.
In my work, I bring a thoughtful, practical approach that helps families feel more confident in their decisions - and gives students a strong sense of direction for what comes next.
